A couple of days ago, I found myself at a cemetery on a mission to document some landscaping work and a memorial grove designed by my colleagues at work. The mood was serene, however, there was still too much snow to get decent photos for that particular purpose. The trip was not in vain, though – I never travel without at least a couple of Lensbaby optics, and decided to make it into a small personal project.
It is my hope that I was able to capture the serenity of the lingering winter as well as the hope of a new beginning as promised by the subtle signs of spring. The photos are taken with the Twist 60, please click to view large:
I am taking part in a Lensbaby blog circle. On the first of each month there will be a new blog post, where you can navigate to the other participants’ blogs through a circle of links. You may have gotten here from Keri Friedman; please click the button to visit the next blog:
Since my childhood I have had a soft spot for cemeteries. I like how you captured the quiet peacefulness of this place.
Thank you, Ute. We don’t really have any parks in the district where I live, but we have lovely cemeteries which somehow resemble parks. There’s another one which is particularly nice, but I will postpone my visit there until spring has advanced more.
I love how you show this cemetery and for me I experienced serenity as well as some new beginnings. Nice theme and womderfully told.

Thank you so much, Katrin.
Beautifully and sensitively captured. I really enjoyed how you brought these images together.
Thank you, Melita. 🙂
