I spontaneously joined a Lensbaby Kickstarter project, for development and production of a cellphone lens named LM-10. I already own a number of cellphone clip-on lenses – macro, wide angle, fisheye, tele. Of course «had to» support my favourite lens manufacturer when an opportunity arose (ok, ok, so I am a self-confessed gadget freak…).

As with most Kickstarter projects I’ve supported, this too took it’s sweet time from finalization until arrival at my place.* I had actually just lost patience and reached out to Lensbaby for a replacement lens, when it finally arrived! (Complaining never hurts, right? Luckily, the LB people are very understanding and service minded.)

This weekend it has been pouring down, but I managed to take advantage of a short glimpse of sunshine for a few test shots. This lens will take some time getting used to, but it’s really fun! Especially paired with a macro lens, the images produced are dreamy, soft, and delicate. Pictures are taken using an iPhone 5:

* My worst experience so far was the Peak Design «Clutch» hand wrist, which actually arrived in local stores before I got mine, _and_ was sold cheaper there than what I paid for my Early Bird pledge… Definitely an aspect to keep in mind when you consider joining a Kickstarter campaign.
