November 2016 two friends and I visited Iceland for well over a week. We’re all three eager landscape photographers, needless to say this was a highly anticipated trip. These photos are all from the same day; sunrise at the black beach near Vik, daytime photos from the roadtrip, and finally afternoon and evening spent at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the adjacent Diamond Beach. Most photos in this gallery are made with the Edge 50 optic, though one is done with the Circular Fisheye – can you spot it? – and there’s even a cellphone photo in there. Yes, food, of course! I am taking part in a Lensbaby blog circle. On the first of each month there will be a new blog post, where you can navigate to the other participants’ blogs through a circle of links. You may have gotten here from Ute Reckhorn; please click the button to visit the next blog:
Iceland is really high on my wishlist. Your pictures make me want to go now. Love how you captured the atmosphere of this unique landscape.
Thank you, Ute. 🙂 I am definitely going back, just haven’t decided whether to do another late autumn trip or try for a different season. We had at least two seasons during our week there – when we returned the day after these photos were taken, all the snow had melted. The glacier lagoon was covered in softbox like fog, and the landscape was back to green like the snow had never happened..!
